We are pleased to have DJ Nilson Diaz, Toronto's most prominent and most passionate DJ, back to Ottawa's Salsaria Salsa Social to play his truly salsa dura from his massive collection of vinyl records!!!
Born in the Dominican Republic, DJ Nilson Diaz Gomez arrived in Canada 1998 and brought with him just a few salsa records, cds, and a deep love and passion for the flavour of the music and dance. Being a professional dancer in Puerto Plata, he also had a strong feel for the unique and 'danceable’ rhythms the music had to offer. It was that same love and passion for salsa that spawned his professional DJ career in Toronto, 2001. Today, DJ Nilson's rare and beautiful salsa music collection consists of over 4000 Vintage Lps and Cds! His favourite styles are New York and Puerto Rican, both new and old school, Boogaloo, Latin Soul and Latin Jazz. Dj Nilson Has been DJing for the past 10 years in many places such as Cleveland, Ohio, Montreal, New York City, Rochester NY, Bermuda, Cyprus, and Brussels.
► SALSARIA WORKSHOP FROM 8PM - 9PM: Advance Hot and Sexy Bachata Moves Workshop by Luc Poulin, 1st Place Winner of the 2012 Montreal Salsa Convention Extreme Bachata Competition!
► SOCIAL DANCING FROM 9PM - 1AM: DJ Nilson Diaz will play for you his finest, purest salsa dura and chachacha on vinyl records for your dancing needs all night! Plus, DJ Nilson Diaz will also play for you his best collections of Bachata and Zouk music!
► FEE: $8 for social party; $10 for social party and workshop.
► PLEASE NOTE THAT:
1. Outside drink, alcohol or non-alcohol, is NOT PERMITTED on the premises.
2. Street/outdoor shoes, or shoes with rubber bottom soles, are NOT PERMITTED on the dance floor. You may wear leather or suede bottom shoes. We will be having Ballo shoes (male and female) on site for purchase, courtesy of GoSalsa.

If you can get such a book, then it can be very useful. Finally, any book on the history of dance can be very handy. So consider asking for one next time it's your birthday. You will be surprised at how often you want to refer to it just to double check.
